Destitution Wall, Beinn Dearg
Back Black & White p3

An extraordinary dry stone dyke runs for several miles along the east-west summit ridge of Beinn Dearg. Built in the mid 1840s during the potato famine by starving crofters in return for food, the wall stands as a monument to the harsh Highland living conditions in the 19th century.
